Frenship High School Band Headed to State Marching Contest

Frenship High School Band Director Dr. Ryan Smith expressed  his excitement and encouragement in the following letter:

"It is with great enthusiasm that I get to announce that your Frenship High School Band has made it back to the UIL State Marching Band Contest! These students have been working diligently since August 1st in preparing for this day – and they are ready!

Our show is entitled ICON and uses various shapes and colors to represent Love, Culture, Strength, and
Family. Music selections include “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen, “Addis Ababa” by Guillermo Lago, and “Fight Song” by Rachel Platten. We have a beautiful thematic underlay showing our support for all who have fought the brave fight against breast cancer. It is a wonderful show, and the students are performing it extremely well.

If you see any band students this week, I know they would love a word of encouragement. Also, if you find
yourself available to make the trip to San Antonio, we perform Monday morning, November 8th at 10:15 AM.

The last time to watch the show, if you are unable to make it to San Antonio, will be this Friday at our last home football game vs. Midland High at 7 PM. Come out and support our football team and stay seated at halftime for a great show! It is also “Senior Night,” and what better way to celebrate the seniors of Frenship’s football, cheer, pom, bell crew, and band.

GO TIGERS!!!"

The UIL State Marching Contest will take place at the Alamodome in San Antonio on Monday, November 8 and Tuesday, November 9. Frenship has been selected to perform at 10:15 a.m. on Monday.
