Frenship ISD Names New Heritage Middle School Principal

Taylor, who was recently named the 2024 Texas Assistant Principal of the Year, is known for her leadership and building strong relationships with her students and staff over the last 13 years.

Taylor is a proud 2006 Frenship High School graduate who attended Frenship schools from kindergarten through 12th grade. After earning a Bachelor of Arts in English at Texas Tech University, she returned to her roots and began her educational career as a teacher at Frenship High School. Most recently, she has been serving Frenship families as the Ninth Grade Center assistant principal since 2020.

“My time at the Frenship Ninth Grade Center has been some of the best years of my career where I have met so many wonderful people; the staff, students, and families that I have worked with there are truly special,” said Taylor. “However, I am so excited for this next chapter and the opportunity to join the fantastic Heritage Middle School team. I look forward to serving the Heritage community in this new capacity.”

During her time at the Ninth Grade Center, it was clear that Taylor’s leadership was exceptional. She was nominated by her peers and named the 2024 Region 17 High School Assistant Principal of the Year by the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals, TASSP. After a lengthy selection process, Taylor was given the distinct honor of being selected as the statewide 2024 Texas Assistant Principal of the Year and is currently in the running for the national title.

Taylor hopes to continue Frenship’s long-standing tradition of excellence as she joins Heritage Middle School. “I was raised by the Frenship Way and deeply impacted by the fantastic people who have made and continue to make Frenship such a very special community,” she said. “Heritage is widely known for its amazing students, and I cannot wait for the opportunity to get to know each and every one.”

Starting this week, Taylor will begin the transition from the Ninth Grade Center to her new role as the principial of Heritage Middle School. She takes the place of former Heritage Middle School Principal Chelsey Campbell who was just named the new principal of Frenship Memorial High School that is set to open in August of 2025.
