Frenship Communications Department Shines at State Conference

Each year, school public relations professionals from across the state submit examples of their work for the TSPRA Star Awards. With nearly 60 award categories in print, video, digital/electronic, campaigns, and events, the Star Awards provide Texas districts with the opportunity to highlight the work of their communications departments.

Gold, Silver, and Bronze can be awarded to the projects, but only one submission in each division can win the Best of Category for that specific award category. During the award ceremony, Frenship was awarded two Best of Category, one for a social media campaign and another for digital video board graphics during home football games.

“Every year, this team exceeds my expectations, and I am so proud of the high-quality and professional work they do to serve our Frenship families,” said Tiffany Taylor, Frenship ISD Director of Communications and Community Engagement. “These awards are just a small glimpse of the incredible things they’re producing to highlight one of the best districts in Texas, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to tell the amazing stories of our students and staff.”

Frenship’s Communications Department has four members including Taylor, Marketing and Communications Coordinator Desri Jones, Multimedia Manager Hannah Morelos, and Communications Specialist Brittany James. Throughout the year, they push out important districtwide updates and information, write stories on student and staff achievements, send out press releases, and produce projects in videography, photography, and print/digital graphic design. They are also responsible for managing the district’s social media, websites, community engagement efforts, sponsorships, and events like the Convocation, the annual Staff Appreciation Banquet, Business Partners Luncheon, and more.

During the 2025 Star Awards Banquet, the Frenship Team walked away with nine gold, four silver, and two Best of Category awards for the work they produced during the 2023-2024 school year.

During the state conference, the communications team also had the opportunity to participate in professional development, collaborate with other districts across Texas, and attend sessions pertaining to public education public relations.

“One of my favorite things about TSPRA is that we can work with other districts to sharpen our skills and improve school PR across the state,” said Taylor. “From fun community engagement events to staff appreciation programs to keeping up with the ever-evolving technology, we’re excited about some of the fun and innovative ideas we can implement next year to better serve our Frenship families.”
