After several years of service at Frenship ISD, Heath Simpson has been named the Executive Director of Human Resources. Simpson is no stranger to Frenship; he has served in education for 22 years, with 12 of those years in the district. 

During his time with Frenship, he has held several leadership positions, including four years as an assistant principal at Frenship High School, four years as the principal of the Ninth Grade Center, and four years as the Director of Human Resources. He transitioned into human resources during the 2021–2022 school year. 

When reflecting on what he enjoys most about his role, Simpson shared that working with like-minded individuals who value the Frenship culture is both rewarding and motivating.  

“It is amazing to work alongside professionals who are all called to the same mission. This team is committed to supporting our faculty and staff to help shape the culture and talent of FISD that directly supports student success,” said Simpson. 

Looking ahead, Simpson explained that his main goal this year is to review internal HR processes to determine how they can be more user-friendly and efficient for campuses across the district. 

He also emphasized the critical role of human resources in Frenship’s success. 

“This is what it is all about and why I feel called to this role. We strive to create a culture where we are committed to recruiting and retaining the most amazing faculty and staff in the Lubbock area to help drive student success,” said Simpson. 

He feels grateful for the opportunity to lead and is excited to continue building on the strong foundation of the district. 

“It is such an honor and blessing to lead in this position. I look forward to working alongside our faculty and staff to continue the amazing work that has been done before me,” said Simpson. 

Frenship ISD thanks Rhonda Dillard for her years of dedicated service and celebrates Simpson’s leadership as he continues to build on the strong foundation established in the district’s Human Resources Department.
